The Church met March the 12th 1881 and after Sermon by Eld. H. Cofer proceeded to business. 1st. Res. that brother H. Cofer be our Moderator. 2nd. Hear the report of the Com. J. T. Bartlett who reported $21.00 paid to the Pastor for the year 1880 and $38.00 subscribed for the year 1881. 3rd. Collected 18 cents for Incidental Expenses. 4th. Res. that we adjourn until our next regular meeting.

During the Protracted Meeting the following named persons were received for Baptism and were baptised: J. T. Morford, Priscilla Morford, Mrs. Truman, John Bilby, J. G. Springston, Charlie Springston, Lola Cunningham, Alcinda Thomas and Martin Mace and Marcellus Showen were restored to the fellowship of the Church also Bro. E. M. Mason was baptized on profession of faith and Sister Annie Wilson was received on her former baptism by Eld. H. Cofer. Also received brother Ellis Thomas for Baptism.

Res. that we elect a pastor for an indeterminate term and if any dissatisfaction arise the dissatisfied party shall give three months notice of the desired change. 6th. Whereon the Teller brother J. T. Bartlett announced the unanimous election of brother Cofer. 7th. Res. that brother S. P. Beckner be a Com. to solicit funds for the Pastor’s salary. 8th. Heard the reading of letter for sister Alice McCoy. 4th. S. P. Beckner reported $3.00 subscribed for pastor. 5th C. Tyson paid 25 cts. For sexton for 1881. 6th Treasurer reported $42.15 collected for pastor. 7th. Resolved that Belle Springston be a soliciting Committee for balance due on subscription of pastor’s salary for 1881. 8th Pay to Bro. Wm. Springston 31 cts. 9th Res. that we adjourn until our next regular meeting.

Resolution of Respect
Resolved That: as Brother Wood has been appointed Missionary to Logan C. H. by the State Mission Board, we extend to him our thanks for the faithful and efficient manner with which he has served for nearly six years.
The church met March 1, 1890 and after sermon by bro. Jiles Burdett proceeded to business. On motion bro. Burdett was elected moderator. Minutes of previous meeting were read. Report of committees was called for, bro. Thomas Marks reported $5.00 subscribed and collected on the building of our church. Treasurer reported $29.06 paid on the church + 75.05 = $104.11 and Pastor $6.75 + 14.25 = 21.00 paid for the present year. On motion the church proceeded to to call a pastor. The first ballot stood 17 for Rev. John Stump, 13 for Rev. Dan Conley and 10 for Rev. Jonathan Smith. Smith being dropped the second ballot stood 21 for Stump and 13 for Conley, after which Stump was elected Pastor by unanimous vote of the church. On motion the church adjourned to meet on Saturday before the first Sunday in April.

The Church met June 15, 1891, at two o’clock and after sermon by the pastor, proceeded to business.
Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. Report of committees called for. T. H. Springston reported a church organized on Beech of Henry’s Fork and recognized as an independent church. Bro. C. Tyson reported also a church organized at the Bartlett Schoolhouse and recognized as an independent church by the council. Bro. T. H. Springston reported $6.50 subscribed on Pastor’s salary since his last report + 19.45 = 25.95. Sister Fanny Hanger’s subscriptions list shows $4.00 subscribed since her last report + 14.00 = 18.00 + 25.95 = $43.95. Sexton reported $1.25 paid since last month +3.57 = $4.82. Brother J. N. Fox presented the church with a fine Illustrated Bible. On motion the church received the Bible and voted —— to the donor. The church held its regular meeting for business this evening at 2 o’clock. After sermon by the Pastor the church proceeded to business. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Report of committees called for. Bro. T. H. Springston reported $37.35 subscribed on Pastor’s salary + 18.00 subscribed to sister Fanny Hanger = $53.35. The committee of ordination reported brother Williams ordained. On motion the clerk was instructed to prepare a letter for the Association-also to read at our next regular meeting the Church Covenant and Articles of Faith. On motion a committee was appointed to collect mission money. Com. Bertha Springston, Ola Springston and Ruth Hanger. On motion delegates were appointed to the Association. Names of delegates: W. A. McCoy, J. V. Bartlett and Jeff Springston. On motion brethern Thomas and Lon Epling were received into the fellowship of the church and granted letters of dismission and recommendation to unite with the Little Creek Baptist Church. Treasurer reported the church is due the Pastor $10.75 and that he has been paid $14.25. Meeting adjourned to meet on Saturday before the second Sunday in September.

The church held its regular meeting this afternoon for business at 2 o’clock. After sermon by the Pastor the church proceeded to business. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. Report of committees called for. The soliciting committee for missions reported as follows: Sister Olie Springston $5.20, sister Bertha Springston $1.70, sister Ruth Hanger 2.45 + 5.20 + 1.70 = $9.35.
The Treasurer reported $17.70 on Pastor’s salary. On request of the Moderator the Clerk read the Rules of Decorum. The Clerk not having the letter to the Association prepared was given to the next day to prepare it. On motion the church adjourned to meet on Saturday before the second Sunday in October.

Bartlett reported as one of the delegates to the Association. He reported _______ time. On motion one dollar for State Mission money paid to Bro. Fox for his membership in the General Association. Treasurer reported $27.00 paid on Pastor’s salary. Sexton reported $1.82 paid on the present year and the church owes him $1.18. The church held its regular meeting for business this evening at two o’clock. On motion the Duties of the Sexton of Triplett Baptist Church were adopted. It shall be the duty of the Sexton to prepare the wood ______ _____weather____ ____
2. To sweep the house and have the seats and lamps prepared for every occasion that the church holds a service in the house.
3. To build fire in both stoves at least forty minutes before the hour of service.
4. To clean well and scrub the house once a quarter and the church shall pay promptly once a month such sum as shall be agreed upon for service.

The church held its regular meeting for business this evening at two o’clock. After sermon by the Pastor, the church proceeded to business. The minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. The committee to visit sister and brother Hildreth reported; and on motion the report was received and committee was discharged. Sister Lizzie Newlon’s subscription list showed $11.50 subscribed on Pastor’s salary. On motion the church acknowledged that she did not treat sister Hildreth right. On motion the church canceled the resolution excluding her members for failing to report themselves either in person or by letter to the church for twelve months. On motion the church proceeded to call a pastor; the ballot stood 22 for bro. J. N. Fox and 2 for bro. D. N. Conley. On motion the call for bro. J. N. Fox was made Indefinite (Ed: probably meant “Unanimous”). Treasurer reported $14.25 + 33.69 = $47.94 the amount paid on Pastor’s salary. Sexton reported nothing paid since last month. The door of the church was opened and the following named persons presented themselves: Sister Florence West with a certificate of her baptism from bro. J. M. Wood. On motion she was received. Report of committees called for. Brother J. A. Corder reported $10.00 subscribed on Pastor’s salary + $26.75 = $36.75. On motion the church acknowledged that it had done wrong in excluding members without notice and invited such back to membership.
On motion all money was to be paid into the Treasurer’s hands.
On motion, the Treasurer was authorized to pay the Pastor and the Sexton all money in his hands. The Treasurer reported $3.69 paid Pastor in present year.
Sexton reported $2.40 + .50 = $2.90.

On motion adjourned to meet at next regular meeting.

The church met and after sermon by the Pastor proceeded to business. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. Treasurer reported $25.27 paid on the present year and $6.40 back on last year. He reported Sexton had been paid only $4.15. On motion the church proceeded to elect a Treasurer. Brother Theodore Bartlett was appointed to take a vote. Which resulted in the election of bro. C. D. Springston for Treasurer. On motion the granting of sister Goffs letter was rescinded. On motion the church adjourned to meet on Saturday before the second Sunday in January.

On motion the church adjourned to meet on Saturday before the second Sunday in Feb.

The church met and after sermon by the Pastor proceeded to business. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. On motion, bro. and sister J. C. Bartlett were granted letters of dismission and recommendation to unite with the Spencer Baptist Church. The committee appointed to employ a Sexton reported they had employed brethern Fred Springston and Frank McCoy for fifty cents per month and if there were any special meeting there was to be a collection taken for them. The report was received and the committee discharged. Treasurer reported $1.50 paid on Pastor’s salary also that the church is due the Sexton $3.90. On motion a committee was appointed to solicit subscription to the Pastor’s salary. Names of committee Lizzie Newlon, Jemima Corder and C. D. Springston. On motion the time of meeting was changed from Saturday before the second Sunday to Saturday before the third Sunday in each month. On motion the church adjourned to meet on Saturday before the third Sunday in May.

The church met and after sermon by the Pastor proceeded to business. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Committee on Pastor’s salary reported as follows: Jemima Corder $8.50, C. D. Springston $24.00 and Lizzie Newlon $10.25. Treasurer reported $2.25 on last year and $1.00 on present year. On motion the church proceeded to choose a Deacon. The vote being taken resulted in a tie between brethern S. J. Newlon and W. A. McCoy. On motion they were both declared the choice of the church by unanimous vote. On motion the Deacons and Ministers of Schilling, Rush Creek, Gilboa, Little Creek and Cedar Grove were invited to meet with Triplett Church on Saturday before the third Sunday in June to assist with the ordination of Deacons. On motion the church adjourned to meet on Saturday before the third Sunday in June.

Springston reported 5.00 on pastor’s salary since last report. Treasurer reported $1.25 on last year’s salary of pastor and $5.10 on current year. Treasurer reported $2.26 for incidentals. Paid old Sexton 92 cents leaving $2.34 in hand of Treasurer. On motion Treasurer was authorized to purchase broom, duster etc. for church. On motion Treasurer was ordered to pay Bro.
