I am looking for info on any Springer lines, trying to make a connection to the Mo. Springers who came to Missouri to Washington Co. in 1820. This man was Charles H. Springer who was born in 1797 where was born I cannot locate. Some of the old timers here tell me that he was from W.Virginia,but I cannot validate this I have tons of info on this Mo. line if it is needed. Glenn Allen EARNEST and Mary HUFFMAN I am looking for any records on Glenn Allen EARNEST or Mary HUFFMAN EARNEST. Glenn Allen was my great grandfather and was born circa 1886 in Marion County, WV. I need any information about his parents. The story goes that Glenn Allen made his living bootlegging. He was arrested on these charges, but the sheriff had pity on him and they worked out a scheme where in the sheriff allowed Glenn to escape his custody, on the promise that he would never return to the area. So late one night, the sheriff shot his gun six times into the air, as Glenn Allen EARNEST fled his custody, Glenn then took his wife Mary HUFFMAN and family and left to the southern part of West Virginia. Settling around the Matoaka, WV area. My grandfather, Clay Earnest, was born in Matoaka, WV on 01 March 1914. Mary HUFFMAN’s parents were Will HUFFMAN and Linie ??????. I am looking for the above family, Believed to live in the Marion County, WV. area around turn of the century. Zona Stall or Zona was born 1888 and died June 14, 1938 in Monongalia County, WV. She was married to Nickolas McClare Stewart, b. 1885 d. Sept. 15, 1930. She married a McGee after is death. There were six children from the first marriage, Udall, James, Hugh, Olive, Ivan and Virginia. One of Zona’s sisters, Rosie married a Cheuvront and located in Marion County, WV. Rosie had at least four children: Icy, Florance & Lawrence (twins) and Jim. Icy married a Charles Gallispe who founded a church in Granville, WV. near Morgantown. Another sister married a Winters. I am looking for any known Watsons, Toothmans, and Kendall. Most of the Watson family is from Mannington WV. Toothmam married in to the family. Kendall was also in the line of the family. I have kendall information back to the 14th century if you are interested. The best line I am looking for is a Stella Bell Toothman married a Charles Oliver Watson. I am looking for information on my grandfather, Lyle T. (Tillet?) Beach, b 1891 in WV, d 1925 in Black River Falls, WI. Wife was Hazelle M. Achenbach. Tillet is believed to be Lyle�s mother�s maiden name.
My father was 10 when Lyle died, and has little recollection of his father or that side of the family.

My father NORMAN DAUGHERTY and his brother GEORGE DAUGHERTY were placed in the Fairmont Children’s home around 1919 where they lived for a couple years. I can find nothing on this children’s home. Does anyone know of it, and possibly where records might be found from there. This is not an adoption case, the boys were orphaned and were never adopted. I believe my father went to 4th grade there, but I don’t know if that would have been actually at the children’s home, or to a close by school.Wes Stinehelfer 2 Jan 1998
